Ranked
Rated 5v5 and 2v2 matches. Play 10 placement matches, then climb 18 tiers from DUST I to SINGULARITY. Your number is your rating, in plain sight.
Eight things to know
Sign in with Discord
Your Discord account must be at least 30 days old. No level is needed. Practice and casual rooms stay open to everyone.
Alone or as a party
Tick the maps you accept and press FIND MATCH. When a match is found everyone has 20 seconds to accept. Missing it only takes you out of the queue.
Ten matches first
Your first 10 matches in a queue place you. Your badge appears after the last of them; the moves are biggest while you place.
Start at 1000
Your number is your rating: there is no hidden rank behind it. Wins add points, losses take them. An early 5v5 match moves about 90, a settled player 20 to 40; in 2v2 the first moves are about 140. Beat a stronger team for more. Kills don't count: a trade, a flash or a held flank wins rounds too.
A tier every 100
18 tiers from DUST I to SINGULARITY. You go up the moment you reach one. You go down only 75 points under its floor: while you are inside those 75, your card says PROTECTED.
Balanced by rating
Teams are split so both have the same chance, and your party stays together. Matches are played in halves: the sides swap at halftime.
Leaving is a loss
Quit a ranked match and you lose it, and a cooldown starts: 30 minutes, then 2 hours, 24 hours and 7 days. If you drop, you can come back in. Each clean week after a cooldown takes one step off.
New season, new placement
Seasons start with placement again; your peak and history stay. After 28 days without a ranked match your badge greys out (IDLE) until you play again.
18 tiers, a tier every 100
The number under each badge is where the tier starts. Everyone starts at 1000, ORBIT II.
Which maps
| Queue | Maps | Round | First to |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5v5 | Six Meridians, Elysium | 1:55 | 8 |
| 2v2 | Dayside, Noctis | 1:30 | 9 |
Each player ticks the maps they accept; the match is played on one that everyone accepted. Community maps and maps in development are never ranked. A party can be up to the team size: 5 in 5v5, 2 in 2v2.
40 levels
Every round your team wins in an online match, casual or ranked, gives 30 XP once two or more people finish it. 600 XP makes a level, up to level 40. Practice gives none, and levels gate nothing.
